Submissions were received on themes such as asset management; ITS; pavement materials; sustainability; and road safety amongst others.

Essays were reviewed and scored by an expert of judges and in the end the following students were awarded: Essays served as an intersection between academia and real-world transportation issues; and submissions were adjudged to be of high-quality and relevant to the road and highway industry.

About the Contest The Lasker Essay Contest engages young scientists and clinicians from the US and around the globe in a discussion about big questions in biology and medicine and the role of biomedical research in our society today.

The Contest aims to build skills in communicating important medical and scientific issues to broad audiences.This year we will award over 230 prizes, totaling more than ,000.
